2RSR
A short story by Clement O'Sheehan
It’s midnight, now the 15th August and you’re with Theo Fitch on Radio 2RSR.
Radio 2RSR is posited under The Molecular Bioscience Building, University of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Corner of City Road and Broadway. The year is 1988.
I played my gig that evening at the Kardomah Café, 22 Bayswater Road, King Cross and finished early. I hold the Tuesday evening residency with bassist Brad Phipps and keyboardist Janelle Bova, I play drums and sing. The venue puts the tables out as only a few people venture out on Tuesday night. It is the middle of Winter in Sydney, and it’s raining.
I like the word Kardomah, it means A Happy Home in Native American Lore. The word has a numerical value of the number eight in Chaldean and Pythagorean Numerology.
The Radio 2RSR licence has a 5KM catchment area taking in the suburbs of Newtown/Enmore, Balmain/Glebe, Chippendale/Redfern and Darlinghurst/Kings Cross.

THE EVENING/THE NIGHT
A Short Story by Clement O'Sheehan
It is Wednesday night, a public holiday, the shops are closed and heavy rain falls. Streaky reflections from neon shop signs splash across road pools and streaming torrents of water. The midweek public holiday has not inspired people to get out and about in this weather although winter has passed. Conditions are wet, cool but not cold.
It’s 8PM as a Pantech light rigid truck ambles past a well-lit hair salon where a man is attending to a woman’s hair. The scene momentarily caught the drivers attention before the changing traffic lights.
